Code CracklePop

for(i=1;i<=100;i++)console.log((i%3?'':'Crackle')+(i%5?'':'Pop')||i)

Credits: GPT-3. Editor: Me (elegance, but i am not code golfing)

The following summarizes my research on instructing OpenAI davinci-002 to program CracklePot based on your instructions.

Please link to a program you've written from scratch.

https://github.com/faced-io/FaceAvataaars This is a bit dated, but before face puppeteering on the iPhone X became commodity (and before Unity natively supported more advanced web protocols and Newtonsoft), it was interesting to write a ASCII character-safe and efficient format for encoding/decoding blendshapes recorded per frame. (Although, I ended up having to serialize it for faster read times.)

What is the most fascinating thing you've learned in the past month?

I am starting to view both new people I meet (and new relationships that I form) and new things I discover as strong-force recurrences of the old. This is both fascinating and frightening in an existential way.

What do you want to be doing in two years?

We don't really know what the future will bring, but I would say something like building the future with the latest GANs and beyond!

Why do you want to attend RC? How would attending RC be different than working on your own?

I have been a software soloist or SF bay entrepreneur my entire life, other than rare hackathons that I am able to find coevals to collaborate with. I'm curious about both contributing to and growing from the experience of such a community.

What would you like to work on at RC?

I like to keep possibilities for creative maximizing open.

I want to figure out the zen of image to 3D GANs because unlike ordinary app development, that is something I can't put a timebox on and remains more of an enigma.

Describe your programming background in a few sentences.

Generally language agnostic, right tool for task etc.

1994: BASIC
1996: QBASIC and C/C++
1997: Flash Actionscript
1998: Visual Basic/Visual Studio;
1999: Javascript; PHP/MySQL;
2003: Mathematica;
2006: Linden Scripting Language (Second Life LSL)
2007: Unityscript (Unity Javascript)
2010: Unity C#

... also dabble in Android Java/Objective C/Swift/Python/MaxScript etc etc etc on a as-needed basis

Have you worked professionally as a programmer?

Yes, I have been building client projects professionally since I was in seventh grade in 1997. I started with Flash "rich internet applications" and PHP/MySQL and building Visual Basic apps for various small business uses, growing up in the 90s. Nowadays, I am primarily known for building augmented reality apps, platform-agnostic using Unity, though primarily iOS and Android (and also HoloLens and beyond). However, over the last 26 years, I have also built entire SMS-activated IoT systems, different types of search systems (primarily SQL based), 3D visualization full stack for doctors, and more. I like to build software for any emerging technology I find of interest.

Do you have a Computer Science degree or are you seeking one?

I am a triple major 4th year dropout just one course shy of a BS Bioengineering, BS/MS Material Physics, BA Philosophy. I decided I did not want to get degrees in subjects I was not passionate about, and that I don't really want to be just an employee. I am not seeking a CS degree, but due to solo winning SIGGRAPH Real-Time Live, I have been invited to lecture in various CS courses. (Actually, this has been happening since I was 12, building Flash websites.)

What other commitments (work, life, family) would you have during your batch?

Currently, I am available!

How did you first hear about RC?

  • A friend/coworker who went to RC

This new guy I met on Bumble

How long ago did you first hear about RC?

  • Less than one week ago

What convinced you to apply today?

  • I just learned about RC
