Localhost: Lightning Talks VI

We're hosting an evening of lightning talks at Xandr!

This Localhost will feature four talks about building software for musical notation, NLP and text generation, GANs, and more.

Food and drinks will be available at 7:00 pm, and there will be talks from 7:30 - 8:20 pm. We will not have a dedicated Q&A session, but you'll be able to chat with the speakers after the talks.

Our speakers:

  • Jamie Brew, Winter 2, 2019, will talk about building playful tools for generating text and writing comedy.
  • Riley Wong, Spring 1, 2019, will be sharing some creative applications of deep learning.
  • Tim Mickel, Spring 1, 2019, will present Noteworthy, a music editor with a drag-and-drop sheet music interface, and some of its surprising under-the-hood details.
  • Vidhi Shah, Spring 1, 2019, will talk about the journey of a book that does not exist: webdev, GANs, NLP, and putting it all together.
